Way back in 1906, drunken French painter and amateur philanderer Henri Matisse created “Self-Portrait in a Striped Shirt”. Which was completed, as we all know, during his Fauvism period. In the painting, Matisse sports a devil beard, receding hairline and twinkling eyes that seem to say “Please present your daughter to me. NOW.”
I do not know what Fauvism means. What I do know is that The Oceano is certain to look good in any portrait, with a jaunty pattern of an entirely different kind of stripe: Little circles! Wear it for a Sunday afternoon at the Grand Jatte, an evening of absinthe the Moulin Rouge, or for a game of horseshoes on some French guy’s lawn.
